About

I have created this blog for those of us who ever noticed the furniture at the space station Dr. Heywood Floyd stops at on his trip to the moon in 2001: A Space Odyssey or the house in North By Northwest or wondered whose house Being There was filmed in.  My perspective on movies and their design comes from my background education and training.  After studying architectural history and design as an undergraduate and earning my Master’s degree in the history of design and decorative arts I went on to work in the field of entertainment memorabilia.  I love how movie sets can replicate a period in history for the viewer to experience it as it was to those characters; where a historic house usually presents the period room as it has been preserved over the years.  My love of film and my constant focus on the furniture and decorative art objects surrounding the characters gave me the idea to start this blog and offer my perspective on movies and their design.

    Hello,

I’d appreciate if you can give me some feedback on our globe chair at: http://www.regencyshop.com

I realize that you are home decor-bedding connoisseur :) I’d like to hear your opinion/feedback on our products. Also, it’d be swell if you can place our globe chair link on your blog.

    Thank you,

    Pam

If you’re looking at Danish modern furniture, you should really take a look at Al’s apartment in ToyStory 2. It’s amazing! I’d love to see a breakdown of all the pieces he has…..

    Great blog!

I fell in love with the black and cream colored paintings (works on paper, rather) adorning Martin Vanger’s house. Do you happen to know the artist?
